Health Visiting Team

Grange & Milnthorpe Health Visiting Team are based at Grange Health Centre, Kents Bank Road, Grange-over-Sands, LA11 7DJ.  Telephone 015397 77255

Our Health Visitors are:

Shirley Bennett, Anna Jacobs and Kim Hooper.

Child Health Clinics

Grange Health Centre  - 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month 1pm-3pm

Flookburgh Children's Centre, Flookburgh Primary School - 4th Thursday of the month 9.30am - 10.30am

Milnthorpe Children's Centre, Milnthorpe Primary School - 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month 9.30am-11.30am

Health Visitors see children and families of children below school age, assessing health and well-being in the following areas:

  • The Health and development of your baby/young child
  • Parenting support
  • Help postnatal  eg low mood/depression
  • Advice re infant feeding = breast and formula
  • Help with behavioural problems eg sleep, toilet training etc
  • Health promotion eg diet, weaning, safety, smoking cessation
  • Provide support around relationships issues eg domestic abuse
  • Help with long term condition and/or disabilities
  • Advice and guidance in cases of minor illnesses
  • Help protect children from serious diseases through screening & immunisation - providing information for these
  • Help children to be prepared for school
  • Identify and help children with problems that may affect them in later life
  • Nurse Prescribing for minor ailments
